Meme from [livejournal.com profile] eyelid:

"Take the closest book to you, turn to page 45, and read the first sentence. That will describe your sex life for 2012."

So the closest book to me happened to be Lois Duncan's Daughters of Eve, because I like reading crap. And my sentence is:

"Have you ever seen the mess three boys can leave in the mornings?"

WHY EVEN.

I run into trouble with this sort of meme because, as a general habit, the books I keep closest to the computer (for writing purposes) are the dictionary and thesaurus. In this case I got lucky, though, 'cause I put a Terry Pratchett down on top of the printer the other day and hadn't bothered to put it away yet. So, from Soul Music, I get...

"How do I know? They don't come with a label on them."

Technically two sentences, but it's the second one that makes it seem possibly actually relevant...

Ha! My roommate greeted me with this meme when I got home this afterevening.

My first one was from Divine Fire, a book of plays that was on the floor at the foot of my bed. "Mother, may I talk to you about collapse?"

My other possibility was from a book on my dresser. "It's what you used to want."

Neither is as good as yours hahaha.

OMG I totally read that book. It was odd. Also, I suppose outdated, even for the time I read it (early 80's, I think) because I really couldn't understand how that one character, the one with the brothers, I think, would get in trouble for going to a school group, just because it was for women.

Also...was it pro women or anti women? It was a bit unclear. LOL.

Also also...hi!

Here was mine: “In answering, one is likely to point out that technology virtually always carries risks, and that inaction in the face of risk would have precluded many of today’s most useful advances.”
